Meet Our Team: Jennifer Guidry, The Serial Entrepreneur

Like many of us, Jennifer Guidry had no idea what she wanted to be as a kid. Both her parents were teachers, and she thought about that for a brief time. She eventually went to school for psychology to become a therapist. However, she quickly learned that was not for her.

Despite not becoming a therapist, majoring in psychology and studying the social influences of behavior and persuasion are continual guide posts for the work she does. This has translated into nearly every job she has had from her paper route as a teenager to her executive position at multiple companies.

Jen is fascinated by the forces (external and internal) that compel us as humans to engage with a company or product and how to use those elements to sharpen vision and purpose for the companies we support. Her endless pursuit of growth and learning have acted as both a gift and a curse.

While always trying to improve the company she was with, she would grow tired of the ennui present in many of those jobs, jumping between many different businesses in a wide range of industries. She quickly realized that was not a sustainable lifestyle.

However, this is where Jen turned an obstacle into a solution. She could better use her skills to accelerate the type of growth and change she wanted to see by acting as an outside resource to multiple companies at once rather than working up to a high level at a single business. Luckily, this has all paid off, since for Jen, running a company is many things, but one thing it never is, is boring!

She developed Solomon Advising, a business where she can help companies be better. Jen and her team help them tell the world who they are, what they are good at, and why you should like them.

Even though it has been six years, in many ways, Jen still feels like we are just getting started. She takes pride in the fact that we have never been fired by a client, and the longer we work together, the better they do. She is especially excited about the increased support and advisory services we are offering due to the expansion of our team.

It brings her great joy in how consulting as a service has been around forever, yet it continues to evolve and transform. Solomon Advising continues to embrace that evolution (SaaS, AI, composable analytics) in order to continue providing best-in-class services and support.

Through her experience, she has become well versed in seeing the big picture while developing an even better team who’s great at the details. As a leader, she can effectively synthesize a vision and translate that tactically, resulting in a better connection with her team and all our clients.

Outside of her full-time job running Solomon Advising, Jen is a full-time mom to her four young children and wife to her husband. You can find her in the pool splashing around with her kids, getting lost in a good book, or baking when she gets the chance. Jen’s greatest accomplishment in life is her family; she believes life happens for you, not to you and that our response to it is our greatest opportunity for joy and fulfillment.

Jen often says, “Life is about showing up and doing the next right thing.” As it turns out, approaching business the same way has proved to work out pretty well.
